Community Institute of Management Studies (CIMS) has established the Research & Development (R&D) Cell – IGNITE to foster a research-driven academic environment by promoting innovation, interdisciplinary research, and scholarly excellence among faculty and students. The Cell encourages research publications, conferences, Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), workshops, seminars, and student research activities while emphasizing ethical research practices and contributing to academic, industry, and societal development.
To foster a vibrant research and innovation ecosystem that nurtures critical thinking, creativity, and technological advancement, empowering students and faculty to contribute meaningfully to academia, industry, and society.
The IGNITE Cell (R&D) aims to cultivate a strong research and innovation culture by encouraging critical inquiry, interdisciplinary collaboration, and ethical research practices among students and faculty. The Cell strives to promote research-based learning, technological exploration, and knowledge dissemination that contribute to academic excellence, industry relevance, and societal development.

Students Paper Presentation:



The IGNITE Cell of Community Institute of Management Studies (CIMS), in collaboration with IIC, IQAC, and the R&D Cell, organized a research paper presentation on 12 March 2026 to encourage research, innovation, and critical thinking among MBA students. The event provided a platform for students to present research on contemporary business and societal issues, fostering analytical skills and a strong research-oriented academic culture.

On September 18, 2025, SBCMS College hosted Sustainatech 2025 – Student Seminar in hybrid mode. Our MBA 2nd semester students, Vivek, Vani, and Vaishnavi R, actively participated and presented their paper titled “Social Media and Mental Health: Exploring Its Influence on Psychological Well-being.” Their presentation underscored the importance of mental health in the digital era and reflected the dedication and academic excellence of our students.

Ms. Kavya V and Ms. B. Thrisha, II Semester MBA students, won the Best Paper Award along with a Cash Prize at the Research Conclave 2026, organized by Alliance University on 11th July 2026, for their research paper titled Perceptions of AI based recruitment technologies and their influence on Job preference among Gen-Z Students.
